Sydney University, Centre for Carbon, Water and Food

Education Facilities

JN is proud to have engineered the design of the three-storey Centre for Carbon, Water and Food laboratory and research facility, for the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Agriculture and Environment. The Centre provides evidence-based teaching and research in global change biology and sustainable ecosystems, focusing on developing options for the management of rural land, both public and private, that help people live, work and thrive in rural landscapes.

This project included significant Structural Engineering design, as well as Civil Engineering and specialist Building Services engineering . The design included a new carpark and extensive upgrades to the electrical and hydraulic infrastructure to the whole campus. The building is powered by a gas generation plant and is the largest within the university’s Camden campus.

JN delivered a successful outcome, working alongside DWP Suiters Architects and Cockram Constructions.
