JN is proud to have played a role in the construction of the new Penrose Village Hall, a project that holds immense significance for the Penrose community and its surrounding villages. Significantly impacted by the 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires, this region has shown remarkable resilience, and the new hall stands as a testament to the community’s determination and collaborative spirit.

Designed to serve as a central hub for community activities, the hall features state-of-the-art facilities, including a 125-seat auditorium. It will undoubtedly serve as vibrant space where local events, gathering, and support services can thrive, fostering a strong sense of community and togetherness.

JN provided civil engineering services for the project, ensuring that the hall is both functional and sustainable. Our contributions included:

• Stormwater Management: Design and implementation of advanced stormwater drainage systems, featuring bio-retention rain gardens and rainwater tank storage. These systems are crucial for managing water runoff and maintaining the environmental integrity of the area.
• Infrastructure Development: Development of driveway access and carpark pavements, designed to be durable and user-friendly, facilitating easy access to the facility for all community members.

The project was made possible through a $1.697 million grant from the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund, a joint initiative by the former Coalition and NSW Governments. Additional financial support was provided by the Wingecarribee Shire Council and the Veolia Mulwaree Trust. 

The Penrose Village Hall stands as a beacon of resilience and local community spirit. The project reflects JN’s commitment to supporting local communities, and we are honoured to have been a part of this transformative journey.
