Based in our Sutherland Office, our new Remedial Design Engineer, you will be given the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of concept and detailed remedial design and documentation on a diverse range of projects, whilst taking responsibility as part of the remedial team for the delivery of your projects to the client.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Site audits, testing, building investigations and reporting services
- Problem solving and development of remedial solutions
- Develop draft scopes of works, specifications and remediation strategies
- Produce clear, concise reports and client documentation
- Coordinate project tender administration and assessment
- Assist with project schedules, overseeing contractors, QA and compliance
- Supervise contractors on key hold points during remedial works
- Under limited supervision produce, review and check designs in accordance with Australian Standards and Building Codes
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as necessary
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment
Essential:
- Engineering degree in civil or structural engineering
- Minimum 2-3 years post-graduate remedial engineering consultancy experience
- Self-motivated, technically competent individual able to work independently and within a team
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code
- Able to work autonomously, managing workload and priorities
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Experience in preparing remedial reports, specifications and tender documentation
- Experience in superintendent role and project management of remedial works
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam
Desirable:
- Residential and commercial building projects
- Experience in AutoCAD/Revit
- Project management experience including on-site visits and assessment
- Familiarity with strata industry and working with contractors
- OH&S Induction Training for Construction Work (White Card)
