During the upgrade to the Trinity Grammar Environmental and Field Studies Centre JN was invited to provide structural engineering design. The facility, nestled in Woollamia, NSW, consists of a general purpose hall and kitchen, and separate classrooms and laboratories. Also included is accommodation for pupils, teachers, and staff as well as other amenities. The design was an elegant blend of modern materials and timber that is sympathetic to the centres surroundings near the wetlands. A high level of architectural aesthetics was important for the common/meeting areas such as the hall. The structural detailing was carefully reviewed and implemented to ensure the architectural intent was maintained throughout the project.
