Fire Engineering
Our accredited fire services engineers work to keep people and property safe from fire. Regardless of project size or sector, we deliver compliant solutions appropriate for specific building features and restrictions, without compromising on aesthetic considerations.
JN’s fire engineering team works across residential, commercial, educational, healthcare, retail, industrial and heritage projects.
All fire engineering work undertaken by JN is designed in accordance with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and state-based regulatory requirements. Our engineers are experienced in navigating the full suite of applicable standards including AS 2118 for automatic fire sprinkler systems, AS 2419 for fire hydrant installations and AS 1670 for fire detection, warning and intercom systems.
Each of JN’s fire engineers is individually accredited with the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia), the peak industry body for fire protection. This accreditation reflects our commitment to upholding the highest professional standards in fire system design.
Where a project involves a performance-based or alternative solution under the NCC – such as a heritage building, an architecturally complex facade or a building with unusual occupancy characteristics – JN’s fire engineers have the experience and technical capability to develop and document compliant alternative fire engineering solutions that satisfy the intent of the code without requiring costly or impractical prescriptive measures.
JN can look after all aspects of designing fire systems including:
- Fire sprinklers
- Fire hydrants and hose reels
- Gas suppression systems
- Smoke detection and warning systems.
